Tens of thousands of soldiers lived in there with all their equipment, vehicles, armoury etc, and they even had their own hospital & postal system. They did such a good job hiding the building of the tunnels that the enemy had no idea they were even there!There are actually more roads inside the rock than there are outside, in Gibraltar.
